About Us

3 Times a Day Publishers has been formed by long-time friends Ray McVinnie and award-winning book designer Donna Hoyle in order to produce books of a culinary nature.

Our first book, launched in November 2010, is Everyday Sunday 01. This is the first in a series featuring Rayʼs recipes from his column in Sunday magazine.

Ray McVinnie (M.A.(Hons), C&G Dip CA) has been a foodwriter and advisor at Cuisine magazine since 1992. (Cuisine was judged best food magazine in the world at the 2006 Gourmet Media World festival in Cannes, France).

Now Cuisine magazine Food Editor, he also writes a weekly food column in the Sunday Star-Times, Sunday magazine.

Ray has always had a passion for food. Even while studying for his Master of Arts in History at Auckland University he cooked part-time. A professional chef for many years at some of Aucklandʼs best restaurants, he was Executive Chef at Aucklandʼs Metropole Restaurant for 6 years.

Donna Hoyle

Donna Hoyle has been established as a Graphic Designer with her own consultancy, based in Parnell, Auckland for over 25 years. Her exclusive clients include The Huka Retreats, Sabato, The Langham Hotel, Brick Bay Wines and Hartfield Jewellers amongst others.

Donna has designed many award-winning books and is often remembered for her visionary work with cards and wrapping paper.
